During this week's lab meeting, we discussed Asaba & Gweon's (2020) book chapter, "Learning about others to learn about the self: Early reasoning about the informativeness of others' praise". This chapter explores how young children use their interactions and experiences with others to learn more about the self. The chapter also highlights certain social-cognitive capacities that support reasoning about the informativeness of others' testimony, including informant goals and knowledge.
